Burger or Hamburger is savored as the most desired fast food meal in the United States. A hamburger is basically a sandwich prepared by stuffing ground meat patty, generally beef, between two slices of a bun cut in half. Hamburger is also famous for its seasoning. Most popular condiments used in hamburgers in the United States are mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Besides ground meat patty, hamburgers are also stuffed with lettuce, onions, tomato slices, pickles, and cheese.
Hamburgers are also categorized into two types in the United States. Fast food hamburger and individual hamburgers served at restaurants are two basic types of burgers served in the United States. The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.
McDonalds is the most popular fast food burger restaurant serving different types of burgers in the United States. On the other hand, there are several restaurants such as Burger King are famous for serving the best hamburgers in the United States. 2nd best burger of my life it's amazing good polite polite staff no weight time made to order free peanuts

One of the best restaurant chain burgers you will ever eat (only competitor is Red Robin). I try to stop in to this place every time I'm in St. Louis and have not been disappointed yet. The burgers and fries are their specialty and they are absolutely greasy, fattening, and delicious. I always get the bacon double with fries but be forewarned, do not get the large order of fries unless you intend on going in to a carb coma because it is just too much for one person. You can even get away with sharing a medium order and leaving this place full. Trust me, you'll get a ton of fries and the burgers are huge. The restaurant is very clean and the manager is friendly and comes to each table to see if you are enjoying your meal. Also, free peanuts!

Service went above and beyond. Really intensive and kind for fast food. The burger and fries were also great!
(5)Brian L.
Awesome Burgers get them the way you want them with a list of toppings a mile long. The fries like someone posted earlier. One order should be good for at least two people. I have never been disappointed. Always friendly staff

Maybe it's just me, but in this day and age, I would expect a place that specializes in burgers to have numerous types of burgers. Like maybe a veggie burger. No, I don't mean a bunch of random vegetables with melty, over processed cheese shoved inside a bun. An honest to buddha, veggie patty. It's not a difficult concept. Red Robin and Burger King have been doing it for years now. Get on it, Five Guys! You're WAY behind the curve on this one. Also, given their 1950s diner style, I was not expecting to pay $10 for a "veggie" burger, small fry and a small drink. I thought this place was supposed to be more reasonable? Guess not. There really was nothing impressive about Five Guys. Typical ho hum chain.

It's been a bit since we went here, but I still remember it, and that not fondly. For being "World famous" fries, there were gross, greasy, limp, you name a bad thing about fries and these covered it. The hamburger wasn't half bad but certainly won't go back to give them another try.
(1)Brad G.
Messier and more expensive than I remember. A bacon cheeseburger, regular fry and regular drunk cost me $14.41. Don't get me wrong, it's really good. If you don't mind the price premium and looking like a toddler that just finished digging through their first birthday cake when your done. I probably could has gone to Red Robin and spent less even with the tip. And used less napkins.

I really enjoy five guys burgers and fries. I like the fact that the burgers cooked fresh right in front of you and that the fries are hot and crispy. Sure other burger joints are starting similar trends but five guys really set it off. There's one close to the house and it's always a crowd pleaser. While sometimes the line can be rather long, the wait is generally short and the food is always hot and good.

Awesome tasting burgers and about everything you can put on one is available and everything is fresh too. I have only had the burgers there so I can't comment on the rest but its a place that I like to eat at even though I'm sure its not the best for you health wise. You get a lot of fries and they are good but not great and the only downfall is that they are really expensive for a burger. Not sure if you can get out of there between $10-$15 which to me is pretty high for burgers but on the other hand its good enough to keep me coming back.

The place was very clean. Service fast and friendly. The burgers were good fries were ok not great.
(3)Daniel F.
This place can do no wrong, my daughter and I always make sure there is bacon on our doubles. Tasty fries plenty to share with the family. We were introduced to this chain by my Dad, and we have been hooked ever since.
(5)James H.
The best burgers in the area! Nobody beats the Cajun fries, the topping you can get, the service, everything about this place is awesome!
(5)Ian S.
The burgers are great and ask for the seasoning for the fries, you don't need too much. The idea of the "floater" on the floor and making sure the place stays tidy and he/she ask if they need anything is a neat addition to a place like this. The kitchen is open and the interaction the staff is having with one another is very positive and creates a great atmosphere.

Love going to Five Guys. The veggie toppings are always so fresh. My mom was recently visiting from Egypt I introduced her to this place. After when ever we planned to go out to eat her choice was Five Guys. She totally loved it.
(5)Steven M.
A bit pricey for what it is but the burgers are extremely good and the seasoned cajun frys are in my book amazing.
(4)Da H.
Ordered a burger they will not cook the meat medium rare. I think the person said medium well or well done was as far as they could cook the meat. How wrong is that?? Can you imagine how many customers they are eliminating, not to mention the loss of revenue; oh well their loss. Won't ever go back. Cannot swallow over-cooked dehydrated meat.

I'm a five guy fan but last night my Burger was over cooked and the patties are getting thinner. Sad to say. Hope next time is better.

On the spectrum of burger joints, Five Guys falls somewhere between McDonalds and Red Robin. My family of four ate for about $40: two small burgers, two reg size burgers, one order of fries, and four soft drinks. Not a bad value. The burgers are cooked medium-well. I do not know if they honor requests for those of us who prefer their burgers rarer. The burgers are quality, but the toppings are the main attraction at this place. They have over a dozen to choose from, and they don't charge extra for any of them. The fries are very good, and you get a lot of them. Seriously. The four of us shared a regular size, and it was ample. For anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing dining experience, get your food to go. It's a no-frills establishment, but they have a relaxed and friendly demeanor. I would probably rate Five Guys somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but the quality of the fries and the quantity of the burger fixins push it up to a 4.
(4)Big S.
This was positively the WORST experience I've had yet! Now, I love burgers, you can look @ my physique & see that, but for the price, which is @ least twice to much for the product received, as well as the portion sizes being completely out of the norm, & the fact that you wait on yourself (very little services received) combine for a horrible experience! If you haven't eaten there, don't waste your money on this one! I rate this pace 2 thumbs down!!!!!
(1)Tim G.
Okay, I'm a burger junkie! Except for pizza, I love nothing more than a good old fashion, greasy cheesburger! Five Guys never disappoints my craving for a great burger! This place is a straight forward burger joint. It's what they do. Sure you can get a chili/cheese dog or even a grilled cheese sandwich, but the burger is the main event here! Unless you order the "little" burger, all burgers are double-burgers. You can get them with an impressive list of ingredients available, to customize your burger and make it patently yours! I love the grilled onions and jalapeño peppers! But you can get other "fix in's" such as grilled 'shrooms, green peppers, even A-1 Steak Sauce! They offer Cajun seasoned fries. From my perspective, they are tasty, but a little on the salty side. So if you have blood pressure issues, buyer beware! A note about their fries though... they sell two sizes; regular and large. Trust me, the regular is plenty. My family of five, can get two regular orders, and they are more than enough. They really overload them! So if you're really into fries, go for it. But don't say I didn't want you! Pretty simple review, but that's really the extent of it. Five Guys does burgers and they do 'em well. If you're in the mood, you can't go wrong here.
(5)Mark M.
Over all a great place to eat. Not just a hamburger joint ! Its real good food @ a great price. Check out their menu ! Many people complain about the price, but they still come here.
(5)Aaron L.
I love this place. Excellent burgers. Fries are just okay. Get a kosher style hot dog instead. Loads of different toppings !
(5)Kay B.
I love the taste of Five Guys in my mouth. Get yer mind outta the gutter...I'm talking about their burgers! So, being from California and all I was a huge In n Out fan. I like a good burger. One where you can taste the meat and don't need a whole lot of fixins to make it taste good. I have the same philosophy about steak. Enter Five Guys. I had my first Five Guys burger in Virginia a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. I thought, "If Five Guys ever came to California, it just might give In n Out a run for their money." Fast forward -- just this past year, Five Guys had expanded to the West Coast. My friends could finally experience what I had been talking about! I've had a Five Guys burger from coast to coast now and they have all tasted great. Btw, try the Cajun fries. They are pretty tasty and have a little bit of a bite to them. My only critique is that they could make a 'em a little more crunchy.
(4)Mel B.
When a family of 4 spends $40 for burgers and drinks there is a problem unless the food is off the charts. This falls far short of that. Yes the burgers are huge, but lacking i seasoning, and the fries are good but nothing to write home about. That ambiance is likes "Mel's Diner" only closer. Take out 5 tables and make it more comfortable. In my opinion, they leased too little space to make it so enough could comfortably be seated and still be profitable. If I go back it would be for carry out only.
(2)Stephanie B.
For starters, Five Guys is NOT In N Out, it's not close. It may be in the ballpark, but they are not on the same team. It's fresh, it's good in an old fashioned not fast food but burger joint sort of way. Yes, it's greasy and drippy but all in a delicious way. The fries were good, the way I prefer them to be- a little overcooked on the outside and a little gooey in the middle. Everything here is portioned huge so order small, get a table before you order since they are in high demand and enjoy.

Being military we always have he controversial debate whenever we move to a new base of the best burger joint. Those in the South compare places to Checkers, those in the West Compare to In and Out, you get the drift. Well most of our friends in this area know In and Out and wanted to compare 5 guys to them. No dice, my friends. I've had all of the above and In and Out take the cake. However, we are in the Mid-West and there is no crying over spilled milk. So Five guys burgers are very fresh. I am a fan of the burgers. Do I think they are over priced? Heck yeah. Especially since I never get over the little burger and for two little burgers a fry and one drink it's $14. The fries you might one to share one order of. You get whatever is in your box plus they fill the bottom of the bag. I'm not a fan of soggy fries. Just isn't my thing. Service here has always been ok. Can't complain or rave either. I will go back here though do to lack of any other "chain" good burger. It sure beats the heck out of McDonalds and all those other chains available in the Mid-West.

I've not been this disappointed since I first learned that Salsbury steak is actually hamburger... After reading numerous articles about the phenomenon known as "5 Guys Burgers and Fries,", I was very excited to see a sign on Rt. 159 in Fairview Heights announcing the opening of a new 5GB&F location coming soon. They opened on Monday and we stopped by on Saturday. The line was to the door and almost every table in the "beer garden style dining room" was full. We didn't waste time on the free peanuts as I wanted to save room for the real food. We ordered and waited about 10 minutes, not fast food time but not a bad wait. BTW, the tables are way too close considering we are now one of the fattest nations on earth and this place was packed. We literally squeezed into an open space against a wall. Food came and I immediately learned something I had heard - the portions are HUGE. If that is your main criteria for a good restaurant, read no further. Otherwise, I'll continue. The burger - decent, but overpriced and fairly bland. No seasoning on the properly cooked meat, but an ample supply of toppings (I ordered it with everything). I had to seperate the two 1/4 lb. patties to be able to get it into my mouth. Taste? Reminded me of something you would cook at home in a skillet. No big deal. It is just a hamburger - nothing special. The fries - for all the hype and the stacks of potatoe boxes forming a walkway to the counter, they were a huge disappointment. Some overcooked, some overdone, limp, and greasy. I'm not a ketchup guy but I went for it after sampling them "naked." A small order was more than two of us could (or wanted) to eat. I could name numerous chains that have much better fries but I won't. Suffice it to say, I can't think of any worse fries except White Castle's limp crinkle-cuts. I'm glad I went. Once will do me. It is a unique experience so give it a go and decide for yourself.

Dining here reminded me of riding a crowded New York City subway. You are fractions of an inch away from the diner behind you, and the noise level makes conversation difficult. On the plus side, it was great to have French fries made from unpeeled potatoes. And having a veggie sandwich option on the menu for a burger place is a big plus. However, they managed to burn my cheese...

Pros: AMAZING burgers and fries. Very fresh ingredients Con: Overpriced in my opinion We went there once when they opened and it was very very good. However, it costed my wife and I around $20 for two burgers, one fry, and one drink. Recommendation: Put everything on that burger esp some jalapenos and Cajun fries We would go back if I wanted to spend $20 bucks on two burgers, but I don't. Ever since I visited Coyote Run Cafe in Amarillo, TX (featured on the Travel Channel) my opinions towards burgers have been biased so take that as you will. Bottom line: If you have some disposable income you need to try these burgers at least once.

I was skeptical at best when I heard about Five Guys. I had heard they were like my personal favorite In n Out Burger but I was not going to buy into the hype without trying it myself. When i saw one was coming near where I work I was excited and for months I waited with patience for them to open. Finally they were open for business and I had to stop in. I arrived at the height of the lunch hour and was a surprised at the line I was greeted with when I walked in the door. I was equally surprised at how fast I moved to the front of the line and got my order. I want to say that within 15 minutes of walking in the door I was sitting down with a brown bag of hot, greasy goodness. I had ordered the cheeseburger, which is actually a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles with a regular order of fries and a large drink. The burger was one of the best fast food burgers I've ever had. The fries are absolutely to die for in my opinion. I wish that more places served fries like this, perhaps if they did I wouldn't gush so much much about them. I consider myself to have a healthy appetite and I was completely full when I finished my burger and fries. I had contemplated getting the large order of fries and I'm glad I didn't as the regular order was almost more than I needed. The one downside to them is the price. My lunch set me back $11, and that was just for me, not for 2 people so as much as I like these guys I don't see myself eating there on a regular basis, which is probably good for my heart and waistline. I know I have found my new favorite place to get a great burger and fries.

Became a big fan of this chain a few years ago when my wife-to-be took me there for lunch. I fell in love. This store is on par with the rest: great burgers, nice people, efficient and semi-respectable prices. ok, you pay 5-6 bucks for a burger. But the normal burgers are double meat monsters, with the junior burgers (one patty) the size of a normal one. Exttremly tasty. The fries are made from potatoes from all over, coooked in peanut oil. I love this place, and this store is great.
(4)Mike B.
I have been to this location twice. The burgers in my opinion are good, the fries are good and they are pretty fast with getting your food to you. The problem that I have with them is that the price is expensive. Being that a cheeseburger comes with 2 patties makes up for the cost a bit more. If you are going to compare their burger to Red Robin which is just a block and a half down the street from them, I would opt to go here. Red Robin is pricey for a hamburger in my opinion. Long story short, I would recommend this place to anyone in the mood for a higher-premium burger.
(3)Bradford P.
I don't understand why people think this place is so great. The burgers are pretty standard. The fries are just ok. Everything is greasy and messy. My big gripe is it cost us about $25 for two burgers, two fries, and two drinks. That's what I call ridiculous!
(2)Michael M.
Trust Bill C's review, to a point: his burger was WAY better than mine! My burger was hard, dry, AND tasteless. Not like my burgers at all, but like an industrial grade elementary school burger. Fries limp: check. Portion large: check, should appeal to Lottawatta Creek fans. Definitely quantity over quality. On a good note: the peanuts were decent. I half expected them to be stale. Burgers should not crunch when you bite them. Buns should not crack (toasted stale bun). Fries should not be limp and greasy. I'm glad I opted for only one overcooked patty instead of 2...
(2)Teri D.
Nothing special here, just greasy burger and even greasier fries. Totally unimpressed by this chain and I can't believe enough people think this is good food that they are selling franchises. I'll take Culver's butter burgers ANY day over 5 guys-- much better food, half the price and ONE THIRD the calories!! These 5 guys must be cardiologists during the day!
(1)Karen R.
This location just opened. Being from Northern Virginia, the home of Five Guys, I am so excited it's here! We went for lunch today, and it was PACKED. Even so, we only waited 7 minutes for our food, and everything was just as we ordered. And it was as good as I remember from the East Coast. They have a ton of people working, and they are efficient and friendly. My only complaint would be that the soda machine was out of a few syrups and seemed to be low on carbonation. I'm sure that it is because they have been so busy, so we will let that slide this time. We're just glad to have them here in the Metro East!

Great burgers!!! So good!!!! YUMMY!!!!
(5)Tim W.
So it's decent for fast food but I think Culver's or maybe a more local joint has a better burger. The quick hits - Burger isn't really that special.... no magic seasonings or prep. Kinda like what you fry in a skillet when you make them at home. - The fries are unevenly cooked so you get a lot of soggy, limp fries... the salt is regular. The cajun fries may be better but I tried to get the 'regular' spot. I can say the portions are huge but the prices are too high. I won't be going back as they only do burgers and fries and I'd rather pay a little less for what I think is better (culvers) or pay a little more and get better (red robin, plenty of other restaurants)...
(3)Don F.
Wow - great burgers. FYI - the regular burger is a double meat burger, get the little burger if you want a single patty.
(4)Mark P.
Over all the hype that we have heard about the place with national magazines voting it the best burger in the country both my wife and I had to try it. Being from Los Angeles I have had my share of the best burgers in the country (so I think), but this place I have to say was far short of my Top 10 list of best burgers, it placed in maybe the Top 15 burgers that I've had in my life. The burger was good, expect that it totally lacked any flavor, which means they didn't use that many spices or even salt. The best thing about the place was the ability to add as many toppings as I wanted, which pretty much made the over-all flavor of the burger and not the meat. I have to say the french fries were exceptional and quite fresh & hot. The french fries made the place a 7 out of 10, but the burger was shake and steak quality which made it maybe a 4 out of 10, but the chili at steak and shake makes them an 8 out of 10. Don't waste your time and money with this place, you are WAY better off going to a cheaper place such as Culvers and keeping your money in a local families pocket

Heaven is officially on earth. Best Five Guys I've been to, and I've been to all of the ones in STL and the one in DC on Wisconsin ave (Georgetown). Packed at 11am, fast food, wonderful staff (the manager asked me if I wanted a refill and we were nearest to the soda machine :D). Great food, and the fries were actually decent. I am a fan!
